HANDLE THE MONDAY #STRESS: TRY THESE..

WHY IS MONDAY STRESSING YOU OUT?

The Monday Problem (Let’s Be Honest About It)

Many people don’t actually hate Mondays.
They hate the job they are going back to.

The stress isn’t because the weekend ended.
It’s because they’re returning to a place that drains them.

A place where:
• They don’t feel valued
• The pay doesn’t match the effort
• The environment is tense
• The boss is difficult
• The workload is heavy
• The traffic feels like a daily battle

So the body starts reacting before Monday even comes:
• Headaches on Sunday night
• Mood drops
• Anxiety rises
• Irritation for no reason
• Feeling tired even after resting

This isn’t laziness.
This is emotional fatigue.

So How Can One Ease This Stress? (Realistically)

Not everyone can resign today.
Bills are real. Responsibilities are real.
But you can protect your mind while you plan your next step.

1. Stop Forcing Yourself to “Love” the Job

You don’t need to love it.
Shift your mindset to:

> “This is temporary. I’m here to gain skills and reposition.”

Seeing work as a season and not a life sentence makes it lighter.

2. Build a Small Daily Routine That Feeds You

Something that reminds you you’re still a person, not just a worker.

Examples:
• Morning prayer or worship
• A 10-minute walk after work
• Uplifting podcasts/music
• Journaling
• Talking to someone who understands

This protects your inner peace.

3. Create Joy Outside Work

Your life cannot be only work → eat → sleep → repeat.

Give yourself something to look forward to:
• A hobby
• Learning a skill
• A small side business
• A weekly meetup with friends
• Gym, dance, reading, sports — anything that brings life back to you

Your job is not your identity.

4. Start Building an Exit Plan (Slowly, Quietly)

Not reckless quitting. Strategic transitioning.

Ask yourself:
• What new skill can I learn?
• What industry is growing?
• Who can mentor me?
• What small income stream can I start now?

Stress reduces when you have a direction.
It’s hopelessness that breaks people, not work.

5. Be Kind To Yourself

Life is already a lot.
Don’t be hard on yourself too.

If you made it through today, that is progress.
You’re not stuck — you’re transitioning, step by step.

A Gentle Reminder

> The goal is not just to survive life.
The goal is to grow where you are
while preparing for where you want to be.

You’re not failing.
You’re trying.
And you are moving — quietly, steadily, surely.
